Our instructors are comprehensively certified in Classical Pilates. They have completed rigorous certification programs that include extensive practicum experience before graduation. These programs require a minimum of 600 hours of observation, student teaching, and movement. We do hire instructors who are nearing completion of their comprehensive certification program when they demonstrate exceptional skill, professionalism, and alignment with our standards.
Beyond their credentials, our team shares a genuine passion for Pilates and for helping others move with confidence and strength. We believe Pilates is for everybody and every body. Our instructors lead with integrity, inclusivity, and a commitment to teaching safe, thoughtful movement in a supportive environment.
Alma Garcia
Born and raised in Monterrey Mexico, Alma Garcia has a College degree in Chemical Engineering with working experience in concrete giant CEMEX. She has always been passionate about dance, and at a very young age, she started as a dance teacher.
In 2010 she left her corporate life behind and moved to Houston where she discovered her new passion, Pilates. She is certified through Pure Body Teacher Training and has completed a Pilates apprenticeship with Heather Erdmann and Jaime White. Alma has participated in multiple workshops such as Balance Body Barre and Pre and Postnatal Pilates that complement her teaching expertise.
Andriette Holmes
In 2013, Andriette Holmes returned to her hometown of Houston after several years spent in the New York City fitness industry. A dance graduate of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as well as Howard University, Andriette has spent time teaching dance in Houston, New York and Washington, DC, as well as managing New York City area corporate wellness centers. Andriette became certified to teach Pilates in 2006, and is currently pursuing a comprehensive Pilates certification through the Pure Body Teacher Training program.
She has additional certifications in personal training and Reiki healing and she continues to grow her knowledge base and skill set by attending regular workshops, seminars and courses in Pilates and overall musculoskeletal health. "I came to Pure because this studio is truly concerned with anatomy and the functioning of the body," says Andriette. "Pure is completely in line with my interest in overall wellness for my clients."
Andriette has a contemporary teaching style, with a nurturing and fun disposition.
Charlotte Martin
Charlotte's Pilates practice started in 2020 and she found Pure Body Studio in 2021 through the recommendation of a friend. She has been a client ever since, and is now working to complete her comprehensive certification through Rebel Pilates Collective.
Charlotte has lived and worked in Houston for over 15 years.
She is originally from England and has also lived in Australia and Scotland. She has always been active, and has participated in a variety of sports including canoeing, rowing, boxing, surfing and triathlon. These days hobbies are more relaxed and include hiking, reading and gardening (especially in England). Pilates provides stress management, helping offset the demands of a continuing career in the energy industry and raising two very active boys.
Jermaine Miller
Jermaine's love for movement started as a child. He was always involved in sports from soccer to basketball to baseball to golf. He became a fitness trainer in 2003. The following year began his journey with Pilates by getting certified to teach through Pilates Lifestyles on various apparatuses. His love for Pilates came as he saw the benefits of alleviating the tightness in his body. He realized that Pilates could help people in so many ways i.e. flexibility, strength, balance and mind-body awareness. He currently teaches Reformer, Springboard and TRX classes. He also works with a wide range of individuals from children to athletes to senior citizens.
Jermaine's Pilates style is considered "contemporary".
Karen Mccarthy
Karen is a Certified Pilates Instructor, via the comprehensive 600+ hour Pure Body Teacher Training Program. Karen has been teaching, observing, and studying the Pilates method since 2018. She continues to refine her Pilates education through various mentorships and workshops. Karen is also an Apprentice of Jaime White, and has trained under various PBTT faculty, including founder Heather Erdmann.
Karen received her BS from Cornell University in 2002, in Applied Economics and Management. An active lifestyle has always been an essential part of her life; an avid competitive runner, she always embraced and participated in fitness and movement in various forms. After a cross-country move to Houston with her husband and the birth of their third child, she re-kindled her passion for movement via the Pilates method. She believes strongly in the benefits of the Pilates method for all.
Kari Suder
Studio Owner | Comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor Kari is a comprehensively certified instructor through Pure Body Teacher Training under founder Heather Erdmann.
Having always had an interest in movement and well-being, she discovered Pilates and was quickly able to see the benefits of the method in her own body. Starting as a student, she decided to become an instructor, not only to deepen her practice but to share her passion with others.
Through Pilates, Kari teaches her clients how to move safely, effeciently and with proper alignment. It is her goal to facilitate change, build strength and to progress clients in their Pilates practice. A skilled Classical Pilates Instructor, her classes and individual sessions range from beginner to advanced.
Always learning, growing and continuing her Pilates education and practice , Kari is a faculty teacher for Rebel Pilates Collective Teacher Training Program in Houston, Texas.
Laura Bumgarner
As a life-long athlete, Laura experienced firsthand the importance of proper rehabilitation and injury prevention.
Through Pilates, she discovered a transformative practice that assisted in recovery, built strength to avoid new injuries, and helped her maintain a sense of overall well-being.
Laura has nearly a decade of Pilates practice. She believes Pilates can transform bodies and minds, and her personal journey has fueled a passion for helping others understand the benefits of Pilates for themselves. Laura enjoys helping individuals discover the mind-body connection through movement, fostering a sense of strength and flexibility. She focuses on giving personalized attention and creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can feel comfortable and confident in their Pilates journey.
Laura is working to complete her comprehensive certification through Rebel Pilates Collective where she will have over 800 hours of training. In her spare time, you will find Laura being active with her four kids, advancing her own Pilates practice or managing a pipe distribution company.
She loves telling others, she is Pilates strong.
Lindsey Lab
Studio Owner l Comprehensively Certified Pilates Teacher.
Lindsey's passion for movement began with her dance training at the young age of three. While studying dance in college, she began taking Pilates classes and fell in love with the practice. When she realized the countless benefits Pilates delivers, she chose to dive deeper into her education, and turned Pilates into her full time career. Lindsey's classes are dynamic, energetic, and different every time you come.
She prides herself on her strong, classical foundation, but loves to bring in contemporary variations and transitions. It's not uncommon to go from laughing to pouring sweat in one of her classes. She has a way of uplifting you even on your darkest day, and helping you to uncover a level of strength you didn't know was possible.
Michelle Moses
Michelle's passion for health and wellness started during college. She discovered Pilates in 1999, and over the past two decades, she has continually come back to the practice.
Michelle turned to Pilates as a way to rehab following back surgery and other injuries. In 2017, Michelle left her desk job as an attorney and began to delve into the world of wellness.
She is a certified yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level, and has taught yoga around Houston for over
5 years, and continues to practice on her own. She is also a Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Michelle opened a gym in late 2019 focusing on fitness and nutrition. She has experience teaching other modalities of fitness, as well as cooking and prepping for healthy eating.
Michelle is a comprehensively trained Certified Pilates Teacher through Rebel Pilates Collective, with over 800 hours of training.
Paige Hill
Paige is so excited to begin sharing her love of Pilates with others. Paige is a native Houstonian and grew up loving group sports, which later turned into a love for group exercise. She has spent the last 8 years running marathons and found pilates after a running injury requiring rehabilitation. Pilates helped her gain strength and flexibility that supported everyday functional movements as well as athletic ventures. Paige is a licensed therapist during the day and is grateful for Pilates as a method to support her overall wellbeing. Paige is friendly, encouraging and focused on safe muscular engagement with proper alignment.
Regina Lopez
Regina is currently an apprentice Pilates instructor completing her comprehensive certification through Rebel Pilates Collective. With a lifelong passion for tennis, she understands the powerful connection between athletic performance and Pilates. Her experience in sports has deepened her appreciation for how Pilates enhances strength, flexibility, and mind-body awareness, making it an ideal complement to athletic training. She aims to inspire clients to connect with their bodies and develop a greater sense of well-being. Her goal is for each client to leave class feeling empowered, both mentally and physically, ready to embrace the benefits of a balanced and mindful movement practice.
Addison Hill
Addison's journey with movement began at the age of two in a dance class, however, she did not discover the incredible world of Pilates until her junior year of college. After taking her first Reformer class, Addison fell in love with the balance of physical challenge and mental focus required in the discipline.
With a BFA degree in Dance with a minor in Exercise Science, Addison is fascinated by the beautiful organization, capacity, and potential of the human body. As a professional dancer and dance educator, she has experienced firsthand how core strength, alignment, and mind-body awareness are critical to peak performance. Take class with Addison and she will help you discover the joy of movement and how to proactively prevent injury.
Carrie Gillette
Carrie is an apprentice Pilates instructor, currently completing her comprehensive certification through Rebel Pilates Collective. Her Pilates journey began years ago, as she was one of the very first clients at Pure Body Studio - even participating in Lindsey Lab's (now Pure's co-owner) instructor interview!
With a background in dance, gymnastics, and college cheerleading, Carrie has always loved movement and gravitates toward classes that feel like a choreographed routine. She enjoys incorporating the foundations of Classical Mat Pilates into her teaching and loves that Pilates is a practice you can continually build upon and refine. Her goal is for every client to leave class feeling better emotionally and physically than when they arrived.
Outside the studio, Carrie enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, skiing, cooking, and watching football.
Kam Thomas
With a background in dance, Kam has always been drawn to fitness and movement. She decided to pursue Pilates full-time after discovering its powerful mental and physical benefits-and how seamlessly it supports everything from functional movement to other fitness modalities. Kam loves that Pilates is an encouraging and supportive practice, emphasising progress over perfection-and that philosophy shines through in her approach to teaching and learning.
In addition to being an Apprentice Instructor, Kam is the Studio Admin and absolutely adores the Pure fam! Being in the studio and seeing everyone's bright faces genuinely makes her day. While her Pilates journey is just getting started, she is excited to continue growing toward becoming a Comprehensively Certified Instructor within such a welcoming and inspiring community.
Loren Holmes
Loren, a dedicated dancer and movement artist, is currently pursuing her Comprehensive Certification with Balanced Body. Her extensive background in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and contemporary dance naturally led her to explore Pilates as a way to deepen her understanding of movement and the body. Recognizing the profound impact Pilates can have on strength, alignment, and overall well-being, Loren is passionate about sharing its benefits with others. She looks forward to continuing her education, using Pilates to help people feel better, move with ease, and connect with their bodies in a meaningful way.

Olivia Kippes
Olivia is a lifelong lover of movement and discovered Pilates in 2019 while looking for a way to stay active and find community. Raised in Houston, she grew up playing competitive soccer, which shaped her appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and intentional movement. She is currently completing her 720-hour Classical Pilates certification through Rebel Pilates Collective and is committed to continuing her education beyond certification. Olivia is passionate about helping others discover Classical Pilates and the meaningful benefits it can bring to everyday life.
