Pure Class Etiquette

disconnect

from all your smart devices (phones, watches, etc.) and leave them in your cubby. If you're a doctor or your child might need you, kindly leave your phone with the Front Desk. Phone and smart devices are not allowed in our class studios.

focus

on the teacher, your breathing, your alignment and the movement at hand. Talking during class is a distraction for others and for the teacher.

be kind

to the teacher and to others by cancelling your spot in class or on the waiting list as soon as you know you cannot make it.

get naked

and leave your shoes in your cubby. Whether you're walking to get water or walking into class, if you have your shoes on you're a little too overdressed. *Sticky socks are optional.

Your First Pure Experience

ARRIVAL

We suggest arriving 5 minutes early to your first class or session.

WHAT TO WEAR

Exercise or workout apparel is appropriate to wear to class or your individual session. We work barefoot, so you will not be needing shoes. If you like to wear "grippy socks" you're more than welcome to bring your own pair or purchase a pair at the studio.

WHAT TO BRING

Yourself! Everything is provided here at Pure. Mats, towels and water are ready for you to use.  There is a filtered water machine in the back (cups included) and towels are available when you first walk in.

Sign in is done through our iPad sitting on the front desk. If you forget to do it - don't fret - our Front Desk Team will be sure to sign you in.

DO I HAVE A PLACE TO CHANGE

Come straight from work or roll out of bed - either way we have two bathrooms in the back that are free for you to use.

FAQ

WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY

While we would never claim to be able to heal or "fix" you, Pilates can be a rehabilitative movement. Our teachers are educated in ways to modify for every movement they teach during a class, so you don't have to sit on the sidelines. Remember to always disclose any injuries on our health history form, and if new injuries should arise, take the time to tell your teacher before class begins. Some injuries prevent a successful class experience, we are happy to discuss this with you.

HOW MANY DAYS DO YOU RECOMMEND

Of course incorporating Pilates into your routine once a week is better than not all, but to really see the promises that Pilates offers we recommend coming 3-4 times a week.

IS IT BETTER TO STICK TO JUST ONE TYPE OF MOVEMENT

Unless you are restricted because of an injury, incorporating all of Pure's movements will allow you to experience all that Pilates promises. A balanced mat and equipment regimen at Pure gives you a variety of different Pilates classes, which will give you the greatest results. As with all exercise modalities - it's important to switch things up every once in a while.

WHAT IS PERKVILLE

Perkville is our rewards and loyalty system. From the moment you start attending classes or individual sessions at Pure, you start accruing points. Use these points for a free mat or equipment drop in, individual session or late cancel.

WHAT IF I'M ON THE WAIT LIST

Great news! Our wait lists are extremely effective and move quickly. Chances are someone will have to early cancel out of class, and you will automatically be put in. Wait lists are like a reserved class. You will be moved into the class you're hoping for as close to five minutes before the start of your class, and we'll always send an email confirmation when you've been added (make sure you're opted into our emails!).

As soon as you know you can no longer make it to class, please remove yourself from the wait list to ensure you are not added. Remember, the waitlists move without extra notice right up to five minutes before class! We do our absolute best to make sure all that want to come to class, can. Once you move from the waiting list into class, our late cancellation policy applies if you miss the class you were waiting for.

WHAT IF I MISS MY CLASS

We understand that last minute meetings are called and kids need to leave school early, which is why we reward those that let us know. If you know you can't make it to class, and it's already inside the late cancelation window of 6 hours*, simply open your app and "late cancel." A $10 late cancelation charge will be processed. By late canceling, you're releasing your spot to potentially go to someone else.

A $25 class "no show" charge will be processed in the event that you miss class, and don't let us know.

*All fees associated with canceling apply to memberships only. Package holders will simply lose their class.

*6am classes have an 8 hour cancellation window.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY INDIVIDUAL SESSION

You are free to early cancel your individual session up to 24 hours before your appointment time. If you need to cancel your session inside the 24 hour window, you will lose your session. This is simply to protect our instructors, their teaching time and schedule.
